Ind Vs Zim : Shubman Gill Scored His First International Century
Indian team opener Shubman Gill has scored his first century in international cricket. Team India (IND vs ZIM) is playing the third and last match of the ODI series against Zimbabwe.
KL Rahul won the toss and decided to bat first. Gill, who opened the innings in the first match of the series, came out to bat at number three. Taking out the team hard, he scored a century.
Century in 82 balls
Indian team openers Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul were battling to score runs, but Shubman Gill made quick runs from the beginning. He completed his century in 82 balls with the help of 12 fours. When Gill came to the crease, India’s score was 63 runs in 15 overs. The team’s second wicket also fell soon after. He made a partnership of 140 runs in 127 balls with Ishan Kishan for the third wicket.
Century was missed due to rain in West Indies
On the West Indies tour itself, Shubman Gill had a chance to score a century. He was playing 98 when it was raining. After the rain stopped, the Indian team’s batting did not come and he missed out on scoring a century. At the same time, he was dismissed for 91 runs in the Test on the Australia tour of 2020-21.
The bat speaking fiercely in 2022
This year Shubman Gill’s bat is speaking fiercely. He scored 64, 43 and 98* runs in three ODIs on the West Indies tour. He scored an unbeaten 82 in the first match against Zimbabwe. After scoring 33 runs in the second, he has scored a century in the third. Gill had 49 runs in three ODIs played before 2022. Gill, who was part of the Indian team that won the 2018 Under-19 World Cup, was the Player of the Series in that tournament.
