Paris Fashion Week: Undercover SS24 Takes ‘City Of Lights’ Theme To Heart With Lamp Dresses
Paris Fashion Week peaks fashion fantasy as Undercover flaunts summer spring 2024 collection in 3D lit lamp dresses with live butterflies in the skirt
Japanese designer Jun Takahashi’s luxury streetwear and avant-garde fashion brand Undercover treated Paris Fashion Week to a brief moment of fashion fantasy as they flaunted their Spring Summer 2024 collection with models lighting up the ramp in 3D lit lamp dresses featuring transparent shrouding that carried real garden flowers and live butterflies dancing about, which were assured to be released after the show.
Stepping back from so much black everywhere in this season of Paris Fashion Week, Jun Takahashi treated the fashion sore eyes with pieces built for something far more divine as his sheer strapless organza dresses looked straight out of a Disney fairy tale and offered a heavenly distraction.
Wim Wenders’s Wings of Desire played in the background which had a significant influence on cinema as the 1987 German love story is known for its poetic and philosophical exploration of love, longing and the human experience through the eyes of two angels who roam the city of Berlin, silently observe the lives and thoughts of its inhabitants and offer comfort and solace to people in moments of despair but are unable to experience the physical world.
The angels in the film provide insight into the hopes, dreams and struggles of Berlin’s diverse inhabitants while offering comfort in a dreamlike and poetic narrative style, just like Jun’s designer illuminated dresses that comforted the fashion sore eyes and provided a brief moment of fashion fantasy as an escapism to the audience.
