Actor Govinda sustains bullet injury in leg, taken to hospital

Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda on Tuesday sustained an accidental bullet injury in his home in Mumbai’s Juhu. He was rushed to a hospital and is out of danger.

The accident took place at 4.45 am when he was getting ready for a trip to Kolkata. He has sustained a bullet injury to his knee.

Govinda was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital after the doctors removed the bullet.

Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, said the actor was getting ready to leave for Kolkata. His revolver fell from his hand and a bullet was accidentally fired.

“Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was getting ready to leave for Kolkata. He kept his licensed revolver in the cupboard when it fell from his hand and a bullet got fired which hit his leg. The doctor has removed the bullet and his condition is fine. He is in the hospital right now,” the manager told ANI.

Govinda, 60, was taken for treatment to a nearby Criticare hospital.

According to PTI, he has been discharged from the hospital.

“It is due to God’s grace that Govinda ji sustained only a leg injury and it was nothing serious,” the manager added.
