Agriculture And Fisheries Council Adopts Conclusions On Bioeconomy

On Tuesday 25 April, Swedish Minister for Rural Affairs Peter Kullgren chaired the Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AGRIFISH) meeting in Luxembourg. The agenda included a focus on the opportunities presented by the bioeconomy in light of current challenges in the EU.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed carbon sequestration in agriculture, opportunities presented by the bioeconomy, strategic planning within the common agricultural policy (CAP), the market situation following the invasion of Ukraine and biological pesticides. From these points, conclusions were adopted on the opportunities presented by the bioeconomy, with particular focus on rural areas.
