In a recent COVID travel update, Bahrain has removed India from its ‘red list’ and has relaxed travel norms for Indians.

Now that India is no longer a red list country, Indian nationals with valid visas can enter Bahrain along with Indian residents of Bahrain. On September 3, the government of Bahrain removed India from the red list. The decision was taken days after Minister of State (MEA) V Muraleedharan visited Bahrain and organised bilateral talks with Bahrain’s foreign minister Rashid Alzayani.

Travel requirements:

1) Indians travelling to Bahrain will need to present a negative RT-PCR test certificate with a QR code before boarding the plane.

2) The PCR results must not be older than 72 hours of departure.

3) Travellers will have to undergo three RT-PCR tests; first, on the day of arrival, second on the fifth day, and the last on the 10th day after arrival.

4) Passengers under six years of age do not need any tests.

5) If someone is found positive for the virus, he/she would be quarantined for 10 days at their residence or a licenced government facility.

Bahrain updated its travel norms a few days back for international travellers. The new rule restricts those people from entering the country, who have travelled from or who have transited through red list nations within 14 days of intended arrival in Bahrain. Only citizens and residents of Bahrain are exempted from the ban.
