Let Bella Hadid’s Beachy Blonde Waves Inspire Your Pre-Summer Look

Festive breaks don’t come much more exotic than the trip Bella Hadid has just enjoyed. Having joined her boyfriend, Marc Kalman, and friends on a tropical winter holiday, the model documented herself drinking piña coladas, relaxing poolside, doing reformer Pilates and even plunging into cold water pools.

A healthier-than-the-average Christmas activity, cold water dips are a popular wellbeing tip proven to have myriad benefits for physical and mental health.

Of course, Bella also found time to let her hair down – literally. With her new beige blonde locks – dubbed “Aspen blonde” by Jenna Perry, the colourist behind the December transformation – the model showed off the kind of beachy texture that we all seek to achieve on holiday. With gentle waves and a wispy fringe – not to mention sandy feet – Hadid looked glowy and happy in her Instagram snaps.

The perfect style to channel ahead of the warmer months, the best way to achieve hair like Bella’s is by getting into the sea. But in the absence of that particular option, seek out salt sprays from good hair care brands. Many of these formulas balance the salt with moisturising ingredients that help to prevent the crispy feel one naturally gets when hair comes into contact with lots of salt, which on holiday – paired with sun – can be disastrous for hair health.

One of the best salt sprays to try is Bumble & Bumble’s classic Surf Spray – simply mist onto damp or dry hair and twist strands of hair to amp up texture. Ouai – the hair care brand founded by Jen Atkin, one of Bella’s go-to hairstylists – also has a brilliant Wave Spray, which activates natural waves and contains a blend of rice protein, coconut and ginger to add volume at the same time.

It might still be winter, but summer hair looks good at any time of the year.
